Privacy notice

What we collect when you ask for a quote or apply for work, why we collect it, who it reaches, and what you can ask us to do about it.

This notice explains how Central Couriers handles personal data collected through this website. Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Central Couriers Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 16662340, registered office 14 Halliday Grove, Leeds, England, LS12 3PD.

What this site does not do

It is worth stating the absences, because they are the parts most websites get wrong:

  • No analytics and no tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no session recording on this site.
  • No cookies are set by us. The site does not need them, so it does not use them, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
  • No database. Nothing you submit is stored in a system on this website. A submission is turned into an email and sent to us.
  • Nothing is sold or shared for advertising. Ever, and by anyone.

Asking for a delivery quote

When you use the quote form we collect:

  • The job. Collection and delivery postcodes, any additional drops, the dates and time windows, the service you want, and what you are sending: pallets, item counts, weight, dimensions, declared value, and whether it needs a dedicated vehicle, a tail lift or hazardous-goods handling.
  • Notes you choose to add about the collection or delivery point, such as access or booking-in arrangements.
  • Your contact details. Name, company if you give one, email address and phone number.
  • A reference number and the time you sent it, so the enquiry can be found again.

We use this to price the job, arrange the vehicle and talk to you about it. The lawful basis is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, where you are enquiring on behalf of a business, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.

Postcodes are the one thing worth calling out: a full postcode is a more precise piece of information than most people expect, which is why the form accepts just the first part of a postcode if you would rather not give the whole thing at the enquiry stage.

Applying for driving work

When you use the careers form we collect:

  • Your name, email address and phone number, so we can reply.
  • The first part of your postcode only. The form deliberately does not ask for your address. The area is enough to judge whether the work is a sensible commute.
  • What you are applying for, when you could start, and what driving experience and entitlements you have.

We use this to consider you for the role. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract of employment or engagement.

Your CV is not uploaded through this website. If we ask for one, it arrives as your reply to our email, which means you decide what to send and when.

Marketing

The quote form has a separate opt-in for hearing from us about our services. It is unticked by default and you do not have to accept it to get a quote. If you tick it the lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw that at any time by telling us or using the unsubscribe link on anything we send. Asking us for a price does not put you on a marketing list.

Who else sees it

  • Our hosting provider. This site runs on Vercel, which processes requests and server logs on our behalf.
  • Our email provider. Form submissions are delivered by a transactional email provider on our behalf.
  • Subcontracted carriers and drivers, where a job is carried out with their help. They receive what they need to collect and deliver the consignment, and nothing more.

These are processors acting on our instructions. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become jobs: kept while we might reasonably still be talking about the job, and then deleted.
  • Jobs we carry out: kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, because records of a transaction have to be available for tax and for the period in which a claim could be brought.
  • Unsuccessful applications: kept for six months, so we can come back to you if something similar comes up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Marketing consent: kept until you withdraw it, plus a record of the withdrawal so that we honour it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or provide it in a portable form. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent to marketing at any time.

Ask us and we will deal with it. We will not charge you for it and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are not happy with how we have handled your personal data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
